I am pretty over having to trim the hedge.
Also had to get Jnr’s footy down from the top of the hedge which was a reminder that I need to trim the hedge.
But if I want to pick this up as a tinkery hobby project I could probably do so, which is neat to know.
This is about as far down this rabbithole as I want to venture. I can see a pathway to success but I don't want to venture any further because I can just buy what I need commercially for a lot less than DIY will cost me in time and money.
Ah, it appears this machine (a Husqvarna Viking Designer 1) only supports .SHV format files.
Ink/Stitch can read these files, but doesn't write them, alas.
Also it appears that the software to drive it is all subscription and proprietary stuff and costs big bucks.
This 20 year old machine is hella complicated.
Handy tip for those on Aussie Broadband you can call them up to take you off the CG-NAT (no need to purchase static IP) so you can directly expose devices on your network to the wider Internet. Helpful if you wanna run a backup server for a site like https://bne.social 👩💻
