Pepper laid an excellent egg today. Smooth and slightly pointy at one end, not rough and barnacle laden and elliptical like they normally are.
We were a bit worried because she laid one without a shell, and one with a not-quite-formed shell at one end.But she avoided the shell grit we added to their seed.
Apparently the barnacle whatnot is due to an *excess* of calcium, so I dunno what's going on inside her egg manufacturing factory.
Chickens are weird, but loveable, in their own unique chickeny way.
